In one line
The financial records you create in Equilibrio are stored on your device. License activation uses a server and, if you choose the Gmail add-on, the text of the notifications you share is also sent temporarily.
1 · Who is responsible for your data
Adolfo Hernández Salazar, domiciled in Costa Rica, is the controller responsible for processing the personal data described in this policy. For questions or to exercise the rights in section 6, email [email protected].
2 · What information is collected, and what is not
Equilibrio does not require a user account. To manage a purchase, license or support request, we may retain the buyer and contact information you provide, along with the license records described below.
The accounts, transactions, balances, budgets, recurring expenses and people you record in the application are saved in your device's storage. The service does not keep a copy of those records. This is separate from the notification text you voluntarily send through Gmail.
In addition to purchase or support information you provide, the service uses these data:
License activation data. The license key, a random code generated by your own browser on first activation to recognize that activation without creating a device fingerprint, and the dates of first and last activation. Purpose: to verify that the license is valid and count how many devices are using it.
IP address. Recorded in one-minute windows to limit activation attempts from the same address. Purpose: to prevent automated programs from guessing other people's keys. It is used to limit abusive attempts, not to build advertising profiles.
Bank notification text, only if you use the Gmail add-on. When you tap the button to send an email, its text and your email address are transmitted to our server and placed in a queue until the application retrieves them. The text may contain a merchant name, an amount, a date and the last digits of a card. Purpose: to deliver that notification to your application. The email address serves only as a delivery label, so that when several people share a license, each receives only their own notifications.
3 · How long information is retained
- License, buyer and support data: retained as necessary to manage the license, handle requests and meet applicable obligations. You can request information or deletion through the contact provided.
- IP address: the attempt limit is calculated in one-minute windows. This does not mean the record is deleted at the end of each minute; these records are currently not deleted automatically.
- Notification text: deleted as soon as the application confirms receipt. Notifications older than seven days are deleted during daily cleanup.
- Financial records in the application: remain on your device until you delete them or its data is erased; retention also depends on the browser and device.
4 · Who information is shared with
We do not sell or rent data for advertising. The providers involved in the service are described below.
Cloudflare hosts the website, API and database: it processes license data and, if you use Gmail, queued notifications. Google provides the add-on platform and support email. The website also requests fonts from Google; loading them connects your browser to that provider. These providers do not receive a copy of the application's financial records through ordinary use, but notifications you send and your support inquiries may contain financial information.
5 · Google user data
Equilibrio's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5.1 · What the add-on accesses. Only the email currently open, and only while it is open. Specifically, two things: the message content (permission gmail.addons.current.message.readonly) and your email address, used as a delivery label (permission userinfo.email). It cannot read your inbox, search your emails or access messages you are not viewing. It does not request general mailbox-reading permissions.
5.2 · How that information is used. The message content is transmitted only when you tap the button, never automatically or in the background. It is queued and deleted when the application confirms receipt. Notifications older than seven days are deleted during daily cleanup.
These data are not used for advertising of any kind; they are not sold, rented or shared for purposes other than notification delivery through the providers described in this policy; they are not used to develop, improve or train artificial intelligence or machine learning models, whether our own or third parties'; and they are not used for any purpose other than delivering that notification to your application.
No person reads them during normal operation. Human access may occur only in the cases permitted by Google's policy: with your express consent, for security reasons, to meet a legal obligation, or to resolve a technical issue you reported. Access is limited to those purposes, in accordance with Google's Limited Use requirements.
Text analysis — extracting the amount, date and merchant — happens on your device. The server only delivers the text: it does not interpret it or store it beyond that queue.
6 · Your rights
Under Costa Rican Law No. 8968 on the Protection of Individuals with Regard to the Processing of Their Personal Data, you may exercise these rights over your data by emailing [email protected]. Your request is resolved within five business days of receipt, free of charge, as required by law.
- Access. Find out what information is held about you. Your financial information is always available to you: export it from the application without asking anyone's permission. Activation information can be requested by email.
- Rectification. Correct inaccurate data. You can request corrections to inaccurate license, purchase, contact or support information.
- Cancellation. Delete your information. All financial information can be deleted from the application at any time. You can request deletion of license, purchase or support data; we will handle the request under applicable law and explain whether it affects license validation.
- Objection. Ask us to stop processing your information. The request is assessed based on the affected data and applicable law; we will explain whether it affects service provision.
If you are dissatisfied with the response, you may contact Costa Rica's Agency for the Protection of Inhabitants' Data (PRODHAB).
7 · How to revoke Gmail add-on access
You can remove Equilibrio's access at any time, without contacting anyone or giving a reason: open your Google Account settings, find the applications with access to your account and remove Equilibrio. From then on, the add-on can no longer read any email. Items already queued are still deleted when retrieved by the application or during daily cleanup once they are older than seven days. Records already saved in the application are not deleted when you revoke the add-on.
8 · Security
All communication with the server is encrypted. Exported backups are always encrypted with a password you choose and Equilibrio does not store: if you lose it, we cannot recover it or open the file for you. Protection of local data also depends on your device's security. Use a screen lock and keep protected backups.
9 · Children
The application is not intended for children under thirteen and does not knowingly collect information from them.
10 · Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above is updated. Any change expanding the information collected is announced on this website before it takes effect.
