1 · The license
1.1 What you acquire. A personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to use Equilibrio. You do not acquire ownership of the software or rights to its code.
1.2 Who it is for. You and your household, within your key's device limit. Reselling, redistributing or publishing the key is not permitted.
1.3 A key is required. The application requires a valid key to function. On a device where a key has never been activated, information cannot be recorded or viewed.
2 · Devices and activation
2.1 How many. Each key allows a limited number of devices, stated at purchase. Each activation of a new device consumes one of those uses; the holder decides how to use them. Uses are not transferred, released or reassigned. Exhausting them does not modify or revoke the acquired license.
2.2 Initial activation requires internet, because the key is verified against the server. Afterwards, the application works offline while activation remains valid; renewal requires internet.
2.3 If activation data is lost. Activation is stored on the device. If uninstalling removes the data, you clear browser data, or the phone removes it to free up space, that activation is lost and reinstalling consumes another use. This is not a new charge, but it does consume an available use. If none remain, the new activation cannot be completed. For a technical problem with the key or activation, contact support.
3 · Your data, and what happens if the license stops working
3.1 It is yours. The information you enter belongs to you. We claim no rights over it, and you may export or delete it whenever you wish.
3.2 An expired license does not lock you in. If the license expires, the application becomes read-only: you can still view all your information and export backups, but cannot create, edit or delete transactions, accounts, people or recurring expenses. You may activate a new key at any time, and you can delete all your data if you wish to leave. Your information is never held behind a license.
3.3 Suspension. A key may be suspended if use outside these terms is detected, such as publishing it or using it fraudulently. Exhausting the available uses is not grounds for suspension or revocation. A suspended key leaves the application in the same read-only state described in clause 3.2: your data remains visible and exportable.
3.4 Backups are your responsibility. Because the data lives only on your device, maintaining backups is up to you. If you lose or reset the device, or clear browser data without exporting a backup, that information cannot be recovered: it does not exist anywhere else.
The application asks the browser to protect your data from automatic storage cleanup and warns you when the browser does not provide that guarantee. However, the browser grants that protection, not the application, and a phone running low on storage may delete any website's data. Exporting backups regularly is the only reliable defense.
4 · What Equilibrio is, and what it is not
4.1 It is not financial advice. It is a tool for organizing and recording information. It does not constitute financial, accounting, tax or investment advice. Decisions you make using that information are your own.
4.2 Notification reading is an aid, not a certification. It is designed to save typing and always shows what it understood before saving anything. You are responsible for checking that the data is correct before confirming. Compare transactions with your receipts and account statements.
4.3 It does not move money. It is not a bank or financial institution. It does not process payments or transfers. It only records what has already happened.
5 · Availability, payments and liability
5.1 Availability. The application can work offline while its activation remains valid. Activation, renewal and notification delivery depend on external services. If activation expires and cannot be renewed, the application becomes read-only, allowing you to view and export data still available on the device.
5.2 Purchases and refunds. Equilibrio is acquired through a paid license and does not offer free trial periods. Payments are non-refundable, except for duplicate charges, charging or billing errors attributable to us, or where applicable law requires a refund.
If you find an error, email [email protected] with proof of payment and a description of the problem. We will review the case and refund the appropriate amount.
This policy does not limit your rights under consumer protection law.
5.3 If the service is discontinued. If we decide to close the service, we will announce it on this website at least 30 days in advance. Records will remain on your device while its data is retained. Without activation renewal, the application may become read-only, retaining access to view and export available data. This does not guarantee that all features will remain operational indefinitely.
5.4 Limitation of liability. The application is provided as is. To the extent permitted by applicable law, no liability is assumed for losses arising from use or inability to use it, including loss of data that has not been backed up, or for indirect damages or lost profits.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liabilities or rights that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited, including consumer protection rights.
6 · Changes, applicable law and contact
6.1 Changes. These terms may be updated. The effective date above identifies the applicable version. A change that reduces your rights is announced on this website with reasonable notice before it takes effect.
6.2 Applicable law and jurisdiction. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica. Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the competent courts in accordance with applicable law.
6.3 Purchases from other countries. The service is operated from Costa Rica and uses provider infrastructure that may process information in other countries. Non-waivable rights recognized by applicable law remain in place.
